How to Backup to Cloud — Generic Android
Applies to all Generic Android phones and tablets. Menu names may vary slightly by Android version.
Backing up your phone to Google ensures that your contacts, app data, call history, device settings and photos are safely stored in the cloud. If you ever need to factory reset, switch phones, or recover from data loss, a Google backup allows you to restore everything quickly during setup. We strongly recommend backing up before performing any reset operation.
Always back up before any reset operation.
On your phone: open Settings
Tap 'System' > 'Backup'
Enable 'Back up to Google Drive'
Tap 'Back up now'
Backed up: apps, contacts, settings, SMS, call history
