How to Screen Lock / PIN — Generic Android

Setting up a screen lock on your phone is one of the most important steps to protecting your personal data, photos, messages and accounts. Android offers several lock methods including PIN, password, pattern and biometric options. Choosing a strong lock method significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access to your device.
On your phone: open Settings
Tap 'Security'
Tap 'Screen lock'
Enter current PIN or password if set
Choose: None, Swipe, PIN, Password, or Pattern
Follow the setup instructions
