How to Fix Bootloop — Fairphone 3+

⏱ ~5 min📋 6 steps

The Fairphone 3+ is a 2020 Android 10, upgradable to Android 13 smartphone powered by the Qualcomm SDM632 Snapdragon 632 (14 nm) with 4GB and 64GB internal storage. It features a 5.7", IPS LCD, 1080.0x2160.0 display and is available in Black.

The 3+ is equipped with a Li-Ion 3040 mAh, removable, a 48 MP, 4K@30fps, 1080p@30fps, gyro-EIS main camera, a 16 MP, 1080p@30fps, gyro-EIS front camera. The device uses a Nano-SIM + Nano-SIM configuration. It weighs 189 g.

A bootloop on the Fairphone 3+ occurs when the device repeatedly restarts without fully loading Android. This is commonly caused by a failed software update, corrupted system files, or an incompatible app. Most bootloops can be resolved without losing data by clearing the cache partition first before attempting a factory reset.

⚠

Factory reset may be needed as a last resort — erases all data.

1

On your Fairphone 3+: force restart: hold Power for 15–30 seconds

2

If still looping: enter Recovery Mode

3

Navigate to 'Wipe cache partition' → confirm → reboot

4

If still looping: return to Recovery

5

Select 'Wipe data/factory reset' → confirm (erases all data)

6

Last resort: use your manufacturer's PC tool to reinstall firmware
