How to Fix Black Screen — NEC Terrain
The NEC Terrain is a 2013 Android 4.0 smartphone powered by the Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 Plus with 1GB and 8GB internal storage. It features a 3.1", TFT, 640.0x480.0 display and is available in Black.
The Terrain is equipped with a Li-Ion 1900 mAh, removable, a 5 MP, 720p@30fps main camera. The device uses a Yes configuration. It weighs 171.8 g.
A black screen on the NEC Terrain can occur due to a drained battery, a software crash, or the screen becoming unresponsive. In most cases this can be resolved with a force restart or a short charging period without any data loss. Follow the steps below in order before considering a factory reset.
On your NEC Terrain: charge for 30+ minutes with a different cable and charger
Hold Power for 15–20 seconds
If still black: hold Power + Volume Down for 10 seconds
Try holding Power + Volume Up to enter Recovery Mode
In Recovery: select 'Reboot system now'
If Recovery loads: wipe cache partition then reboot
Last resort: factory reset from Recovery — erases all data
