A black screen on the Doogee V40 can occur due to a drained battery, a software crash, or the screen becoming unresponsive. In most cases this can be resolved with a force restart or a short charging period without any data loss. Follow the steps below in order before considering a factory reset.
On your Doogee V40: charge for 30+ minutes with a different cable and charger
Hold Power for 15–20 seconds
If still black: hold Power + Volume Down for 10 seconds
Try holding Power + Volume Up to enter Recovery Mode
In Recovery: select 'Reboot system now'
If Recovery loads: wipe cache partition then reboot
Last resort: factory reset from Recovery — erases all data
