Overheating on your phone can occur during intensive tasks like gaming or video recording and is usually normal. However persistent overheating during light use or while charging can indicate a software issue, a runaway background app, or in rare cases a battery problem. The steps below will help you identify and resolve the cause quickly.
On your phone: remove the phone case to let heat escape
Close all background apps immediately
Check Settings > Battery for any app using excessive CPU
Uninstall recently installed apps β one may have a runaway process
Avoid using the phone while charging
Keep out of direct sunlight and hot environments
If overheating starts immediately after restart: do a factory reset
If there is a physical hot spot near the battery: contact the manufacturer
