Dark Mode on your phone switches the system interface, menus and supported apps to a dark color scheme with light text on dark backgrounds. This significantly reduces eye strain in low light conditions and can extend battery life on AMOLED and OLED displays which consume less power to display dark pixels. It can be enabled instantly or scheduled to activate automatically at sunset.

1

On your phone: open Settings

2

Tap 'Display'

3

Tap 'Dark' to enable instantly

4

Or: pull down the notification shade and tap the 'Dark mode' quick tile

5

To schedule: tap 'Dark mode settings' > 'Turn on as scheduled'

6

Choose Sunset to Sunrise or set a custom time range

7

Dark mode reduces eye strain and saves battery on AMOLED displays
