Taking a screenshot on your phone captures exactly what is displayed on your screen and saves it as an image to your Gallery. Screenshots are useful for saving information, sharing content, reporting issues or keeping records of conversations. Android and most manufacturers provide multiple methods to capture screenshots including button combinations, gestures and Quick Settings shortcuts.

On your phone: hold Volume Down + Power simultaneously for 1 second

A flash confirms the capture

Palm swipe: Settings > Advanced features > Motions and gestures > Palm swipe to capture

Quick Settings: pull down notification shade and tap Screenshot tile

Screenshots saved in Gallery > Albums > Screenshots
