Setting up a screen lock on your phone is one of the most important steps to protecting your personal data, photos, messages and accounts. Android offers several lock methods including PIN, password, pattern and biometric options. Choosing a strong lock method significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access to your device.

On your phone: open Settings

Tap 'Lock screen'

Tap 'Screen lock type'

Enter current PIN or password

Choose: None, Swipe, PIN, Password, Pattern, Fingerprint, or Face

To remove: select 'None' or 'Swipe' and confirm
