How to Free Up Storage β Samsung One UI
Applies to all Samsung One UI phones and tablets. Menu names may vary slightly by Android version.
Running low on storage on your phone causes the phone to slow down, prevents app updates, and can stop the camera from saving new photos. Android needs a minimum of 10 to 15 percent free storage to operate efficiently. Regularly clearing old downloads, app caches and backed-up photos is the easiest way to keep your storage healthy and your phone fast.
On your phone: open Settings > Device care > Storage to see what uses the most space
Delete old Downloads and Documents
Delete duplicate photos and videos from Gallery
Back up photos to Google Photos then delete from device
Settings > Apps β tap each app > Storage > Clear cache
Uninstall apps unused in the last 30 days
Move media files to a microSD card if your device supports it
